Focusing fabric and design applications around flexibility, versatility, and longevity, I am designing with a minimalist mind-set for a 23+ years old demographic, working in the current global COVID-19 pandemic era. I am trying to push the boundaries of conventional knitting and design responsibility, where the aim of my final project, inspired by shadows, is to design a conceptual knitted installation that shows potential to adapt a communal lunchtime seating environment.
CASA Z; A collaborative project between Spinexpo Shanghai and Nottingham Trent University (NTU). In a time where the millennial generation spend around 70% of their time at home, they seek relaxed and feel good garments, different to those seen online, that can be worn in a sport way or casually depending on the way they are styled.
Luxury Knitted Vases for the Home (LKV). A Product and Textile Design Project, in collaboration with Pearson Lloyd and ATRG. Limited to 15 sq. meters, the aim is to design a product fit for micro living of the 21st century, for a young creative and their partner. Mimicking the intricate shapes and details inspired by the delicacy of nature to create these soft and wearable pot warmers. Dying yarns using natural ingredients such as coffee granules and onion skins to encourage responsible design.
